Boys In Blue ready to make a statement in 4-Day Series clash with Goldrush Boland

NEWLANDS – World Sports Betting Western Province Men will be looking to build on their recent performances as they head into Round 6 of the 4-Day Series this Sunday.

Boasting a balanced squad that blends experienced campaigners with emerging talent, the Boys in Blue are determined to make a statement when they travel down the N1 to face Goldrush Boland at Boland Park.

The Boys In Blue will be aiming to create opportunities, and maintain the momentum they have worked hard to establish so far this season.

The match will start at 10:00 at Boland Park and will be live-streamed on Cricket South Africa’s YouTube page.

Speaking ahead of the encounter head coach Rory Kleinveldt delivered a messsge that the work will have to be put in to get a positive result.

“The wickets generally are flat at Boland Park,” said head coach Rory Kleiveldt. “The conditions are warm – having played there a few times, when you look up at the sky at 11 o’clock and then you look up again at 1 o’clock, it seems like the sun hadn’t moved an inch. And it’s just beating down on you.

“So, from a bowling perspective, it’s going to be hard for us to take 20 wickets, but I think the boys are preparing really well.”

Kleinveldt explained that the team is constantly exploring innovative and creative approaches to create opportunities that give them the best possible chance of securing victories, while remaining adaptable to the challenges presented by different opponents and conditions.

“We’re thinking of creative ways of trying to make sure that we can create 20 chances in the game to give us a good chance to win the game,” he said.

“Obviously, the wickets are generally quite flat there, so the batters will be looking forward to going there and getting themselves in and cashing in, basically.

“So, from a team perspective, hopefully it all comes together this week, and we can come away with the result.”
