NEWLANDS -World Sports Betting Western Province claimed a convincing four-wicket victory over the Renault Potchefstroom North West Dragons in their T20 Challenge encounter at WSB Newlands on Sunday.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Western Province were made to chase a high total as the Dragons posted 186/5 in their allotted overs.

Diego Rosier top-scored with a fluent 73, while Ludwich Schuld added an impressive 61 off 40 balls to help the visitors to a competitive total.

In reply, the Boys In Blue made light work of the chase, with batter Daniel Smith leading the charge with a superb 80, well-supported by opener Valentine Kitime, who contributed a brisk 50.

The pair’s partnership laid the foundation for a comfortable run chase, as Province reached the target inside 17 overs to seal their opening win.
