Tell us how you came to be working at Western Province Cricket Association?
In 2016 I completed my work-integrated learning at Newlands Cricket Ground.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Nothing makes me happier than being of service to the next person, knowing I was able to make a valuable contribution by delivering my input, assisting and sharing my knowledge and skills.
Many would argue that you have one of the most iconic work venues in South Africa, how do you go about appreciating Newlands Cricket Ground as your office?
Newlands is a beauty. I am always fascinated when I see a guinea fowl or a squirrel. Every morning I overlook the stadium from the balcony and glance at the backdrop of the mountain, just breathing in the fresh air as my motivation for the day.
Tell us something that not many people will know about you
I am a self-motivated person and a go-getter who loves a challenge. My focus is setting my mind to a specific goal and achieving it.
What are some of your most memorable occasions at Newlands?
The build up to a match excites me, especially when it’s an international game, when the field gets painted and the cameras are being set-up for a televised game. Having the opportunity to tour the mobile broadcasting truck of Supersport and seeing how the end result is being produced that you see in the media. Being able to meet various delegates, sport stars and celebrities in the President’s Suite on a match day, where I would normally just see them on television.
