Six Gun Grill WP Women enjoy victorious weekend over Titans Ladies

October 2022

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins, Six Gun Grill Western Province and the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers secured impressive back-to-back wins this weekend following impressive 50-over wins in the latest round of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s Provincial T20 Cup on Sunday.

The Dolphins edged the DP World Lions by 13 runs in a tightly contested encounter in Durban, with Six Gun Grill Western Province overcoming a weather interruption in Cape Town to defeat the Fidelity Titans by nine runs through the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) and remain perfect with four wins from four.

Meanwhile, the Garden Route Badgers continued on from their 50-over victory over the One-Day Cup defending champions, the North West Dragons the previous day, to earn a comfortable seven wicket triumph in front of their home support in Oudtshoorn.

At the majestic Six Gun Grill Newlands Stadium, the unbeaten Western Province showed their depth of talent within their squad as Momentum Proteas all-rounder Nadine de Klerk shone with the bat from the middle-order, smashing 61* runs off 37 deliveries, including eight fours and two sixes as WP landed on 124 / 5 after 20 overs.

Following a lengthy rain delay, the second innings was eventually adjusted to 10 overs with a revised target of 73 for the Titans. Faced with a tight game, the Province bowlers remained disciplined with their lines and lengths as they limited the visitors to 64 / 6 to win by nine runs via DLS and top the T20 table.

The CSA women’s domestic season resumes on Saturday, 12 November with the One-Day Cup and T20 Cup action continuing across the country.
