WPCA, Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages announce Sponsorship Renewal
September 2020

Enjoying a cold drink at Newlands Cricket Ground, in the heat of the South African Summer, has been engrained in the tradition of arguably one of the greatest settings in world sport, and today, the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) and Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages can announce the continuation of the partnership for the company to be the exclusive sponsor of non-alcoholic beverages to the association for the next four years.
David Brooke, WPCA Brand and Sponsorship Manager, is delighted to renew the sponsorship. “Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages have always understood the needs of the fans as well as our respective teams which go out there and represent WP and Cape Cobras Cricket. I sincerely thank them for their unwavering support over the years and their willingness to renew this partnership during these unprecedented times.”
Matthew Jewell, Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages Assets Marketing Manager is looking forward to continuing the relationship. “Newlands is part of our culture in South African sport, there’s nothing better than a packed Newlands during a New Year’s Test match, and we are looking forward to continue to add to the overall fan experience at all Proteas and Cape Cobras matches. We thank WPCA for the constant engagement during these uncertain times and we are looking forward to the prospect of live cricket very soon.”
Ashraf Burns, acting WPCA President, thanked Coca-Cola Peninsula Beverages for their continued support. “It is truly magnificent to have such a strong brand continue their partnership with us, especially during these tough times for all sports organisations. We look forward to the day when we can have a packed Newlands once again, with fans all enjoying an ice-cold Coke or Powerade.”
