WPCA mourns the passing of Lungiswa Mehlomakulu
NEWLANDS – Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has learned with sadness of the passing of our beloved colleague Lungiswa Mehlomakulu.
Sis Lungi as she was fondly known by her colleagues passed away Thursday, 04 July 2024 in hospital after an illness.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Mehlomakulu family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Stadium & Operations Manager, Clifford Dodgen commented: ‘’We are deeply saddened and shocked by Lungiswa’s untimely departure. Lungiswa was a dedicated and loyal member of staff,” he said.
“She will be sorely missed by her colleagues. Our condolences to her family through this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace.’’
WPCA President, Johannes Adams, also expressed his condolences: “Lungiswa worked as a cleaner at NCG, but she was also a dear friend, gone too soon, but will never ever be forgotten,” said Adams.
“These are the words of a former colleague Zainub Emeran. I fully agree with her. Lungi never liked conflict and always wanted to do things the right way. She also went way out of her way to help whatever needed to be done at Newlands. A friendly personality and always with a smile on her face. She was exemplary as an employee for WPCA and will be surely missed.”
May her soul rest in peace and may her memory continue to be a source of strength and comfort during this very difficult time.
