WPCA OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE

The Western Province Cricket Association has heeded the call by the President of South Africa to take swift, purposeful and collective action immediately relating to COVID-19.

​To this end, the WPCA offices and Newlands Cricket Ground, is under lockdown until further notice. This means that:

  • Majority of its staff will work remotely
  • All club, youth and any other form of cricket is cancelled
  • All board and subcommittee meetings are cancelled

You are kindly requested not to visit Newlands Cricket Ground during this time to exercise social distancing and prevent the spread of the virus.

An assessment will be made on a weekly basis to consider the ongoing need to remain under lockdown.

“This is an unprecedented event in our time and it is crucial to make decisive calls in order to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders. We thank our President Cyril Ramaphosa for showing strong leadership during this time and take heed of his call to business to take preventative measures,” expressed WPCA CEO Nabeal Dien.
