WPCA pay tribute to former board member, the late Lance Witten

WPCA President Ashraf Burns has led the tributes to former board member Lance Witten who passed away suddenly on Tuesday. “I was privileged to serve with Lance on the WPCA Board during a challenging period. His resilience in adversity was one of his attributes. We beseech the Almighty to place contentment in the hearts of the loved ones and grant them good health. On behalf of the WPCA Board, management and staff, we express our heartfelt sympathies to Lance’s family.”

WPCA CEO Michael Canterbury: “Lance was a great asset to Western Province cricket as a whole. We were lucky to have Lance as a colleague and friend. Since 2015, he always made time for the Association. His dedication and efforts to assist Western Province cricket on labour matters and as a director on the boards will always be remembered. We were honoured to have worked with him and find ourselves fortunate to have known him personally. He was a true gem of a person, and we are all going to miss him.”

The memorial service will take place on Wednesday 9 November at 10h00 at Church on Main, 3 Millbank Road, Wynberg.
