WSB Western Province Women ready for the Titans task this weekend
NEWLANDS – World Sports Betting Western Province Women captain Leah Jones says the team is looking to continue the winning momentum this weekend when they travel north to the capital to face the Fidelity Titans in the second round of the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.
Both matches are set to start at 10:00 and will be streamed live on the CSA YouTube channel.
Jones believes the team is on the right track ahead of their first away match of the season.
“What you can expect is that we’ve put up a very good fight to take both wins this past weekend. We started well and we want to continue that momentum into the rest of the season,” said Jones.
“I think it’s just a sharpening of skills every session that we have in the week will help us in tune with the upcoming challenge.
“The girls have worked hard these past few days and put real focus into fine tune what was lacking last week.
“So I think it’s just a continuation of refining our skills every single week so we can also get better throughout the season.
“I think the bowling unit as a whole did extremely well in containing and restricting the Badgers to under 200 in the first game and defending our score 115 second game.
“So yes, it was really good to see and I think we bowled really well.”
Jones knows it won’t be easy at SuperSport Park this weekend but believes the team is ready to face any difficulties.
“They’re (Titans) going to come hard, and I know they’re going to fight and want to beat us,” she said.
“I think it will be a good game. Like I said, a good competition between bat and ball.”
