WSB WPCA mourns the loss of Brent Bingham
June 2024
NEWLANDS – Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) is mourning the loss of an esteemed colleague Brent Bingham.
Bingham, who was our Youth Cricket Assistant, passed away peacefully in the hospital on Thursday after an illness.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Bingham family, they are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
Clinton du Preez, WPCA Cricket Services Manager, commented: “I am at a loss for words on his passing, our lives and that of the greater cricket eco-system will be poorer without ‘“Biggy’”. Our gentle giant was a true and diligent servant of our beautiful game and added immense value. His kind and gentle ways brought people together, and many gravitated towards him because of his personality.”
WPCA President, Johannes Adams, also expressed his condolences: “Brent’s dedication and passion for youth cricket were unparalleled. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of commitment and camaraderie. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” he said.
May we all find solace in cherished memories of spending 8 years at Western Province Cricket.
A memorial service will be held, with details to follow.
